A Twelve-Year Night (La noche de 12 anos)
In 1973, Uruguay was controlled by a military dictatorship. Three Tupamaro prisoners were kidnapped from their cells in a secret operation, with the cruel order: "Since we can't kill them, drive them crazy." For 12 years, they endured torture and isolation, including Pepe Mujica—who would later become president of Uruguay. Can humans remain sane when the world tries to destroy them?
